Dear Spoede Pre-K Families,
I hope everyone is having a wonderful spring break.  If you have any vacation photos to share, please send them to me.  I will put together a spring break blog together to welcome us back from our vacations and get us excited for the last quarter of Spoede Pre-Kindergarten. The of March 9 - March 10 included a visit from Lucky the Leprechaun, two evenings of Parent Teacher Conferences, an Early Release Day and Friday off.  Throughout the shortened week we got busy with some fun St. Patrick's Day projects and working together to try to catch a leprechaun.

Monday-  We had our first visit by Lucky the Leprechaun.  We made Shamrock handprints, making "The Cutest Clover in the Patch!".  We started building a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow with glitter, coloring, and cutting.  We made a journal page about what would do with a pot of gold.  We kept our eyes and ears open throughout the day, collecting materials for our leprechaun traps.

Tuesday-  We finished up our shamrock handprints, "The Cutest Clover in the Patch!" and continued to build a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow with glitter. We finished up some assessment work with Ms. Davenport, cutting and gluing pictures into sequence, matching numerals with number of dots, and patterning and rote counting with bears. We made marble painting pictures over a shamrock. We enjoyed Music with Ms. Li.  We are so  happy she is back.  fter the warmup singing and dancing, the students played a game involving catching a leprechaun to music, using stretchy band as the trap!

Wednesday-  We made leprechaun pictures with coloring and cutting. The project was going to involve putting the students' photo of their face in place of the leprechaun face. Kids voted for Masks instead, so we changed the outcome, We worked with yellow model magic to make golden items to help catch Lucky the Leprechaun! The students really enjoyed making Leprechaun traps. One student wanted a bigger box and I said I didn't have anymore.  So she told me I could buy something from Amazon. These kids are so smart! We found some paper boxes instead! Students made marble painting pictures on a shamrock. Students made marbel painting pictures of shamrocks.

Thursday-  Lucky the Leprechaun barely escapes the great traps made by the students!  He  created a bit of mischief, as well as leaving behind special pots of gold filled with treasures for each student! We spent the morning enjoying the treasures and collecting all of the St. Patrick's Day confetti that Lucky the Leprechaun left. Then for centers, we made Pipe Cleaner Rainbows which was great patterning practice plus a fun St. Patrick's Day craft that was edible.  The students literally said after the Leprechsun visit and the special project...  "THIS IS THE BEST DAY EVER!"
